"I've lived in four beautiful states since I moved to the United States 22 years ago: California, Michigan, Georgia and now North Carolina. Of all the cities I've lived in those great states, Charlotte has been the best place for me and my family to call home for many reasons: great schools, affordable housing, excellent transit system, lovely neighborhoods, easy to access airport, less congested roadways, safe environment and easy access to the coast and mountains. An investment in Charlotte is not a risk but a major gain!" - Taiwo Jaiyeoba
"Much like its Royal name the city of Charlotte is Rich in so many ways. Its Rich in beauty and its unique personality and character all around. Its rich and loyal in the sense of livng and raising a family. For myself being a transplant from upstate New York I instantly fell in love and appreciated all that the fast growing southern city had to offer. The best part of all is this city shows no signs of slowing down. The city of Charlotte to me is a melting pot from many backgrounds , different cultures, and so many transplants from other geographical locations, yet so many of these people share the same story in making Charlotte there home. I personally know many people who've moved here for work or school and say they plan on living here for maybe 1 or 2 years, Little did they know that would turn into 5 or 10+ years. I think that speaks alot about the loyalty this city offers to its resisdents , and its easy to mirror that same amount of loyalty back to the city you soon will call home. Charlotte!" - Dave Bridges
"Beautiful weather, southern hospitality, and an emerging technology center. The gateway to the southeast and beyond. Talented people willing to work for a great company." - Wes Griffin
"Charlotte is a great place to live, offering things of interest to nearly everyone. As someone who moved here just four years ago, I can attest to the ease of adjusting to this city. The friendly citizens make great neighbors. We'd love to have the chance to welcome you too." -Celeste Brockington
“Charlotte has it all!
Living in Charlotte is like living in a Big Town in a major city. Everywhere you go from the stores to the park to the streets Uptown, people are friendly.
We have great weather (snow never lasts); great family friendly things to do; we have the US National Whitewater Center; we have a large airport.
Charlotte is diverse and homogenous at the same time. People come here to live from all over the country and all over the world. We have all this without the congestion of Atlanta or Washington, DC.
I chose Charlotte 22 years ago, and I will never leave because when people move to Charlotte, they have found a home.
And this is why Amazon would do well to place their new headquarters here in Charlotte-because in Charlotte, Amazon will find a home, just like I did and the many others that have moved here.” – James Thamm
“Charlotte and Amazon are a match made in heaven. Charlotte is one of the largest airport hubs and offers direct flights all across the United States. Uptown and the South End Neighborhoods are growing by leaps and bounds and offer an emerging location for Amazon to build office space that offers the big city life that it’s employees will love. Public transit is improving and growing with the Blue Line Lynx Light Rail Extension and the Street Car Line linking East and West Charlotte. Located in the center of the Carolina’s the city offers a vast employment pool featuring graduates from both Carolinas (from prestigious universities such as Duke, UNC, NC State, Wake Forest, Clemson, University of South Carolina and our hometown UNC-Charlotte) and across the East Coast. Attractions such as the city’s burgeoning brewery scene, professional sports teams, Carowinds, and attractions such as the museums and cultural destinations located Uptown assure that Amazon’s employees will enjoy their time away from the office. The opportunities are there for Amazon to hop on board the Charlotte Locomotive, and I hope they won’t miss their chance to be a part of something special!” – Zachary Pletchan
“Charlotte, North Carolina. More than just a place to live. A place to grow. A place to be challenged. A place that allows you to meet amazing people. A place that has so many friendly faces. A place that strives to grow. A place where hard work is rewarded. A place with a wide variety of events to explore; sports, beach, concerts, mountains, hiking, white water rapids, lakes, plays, and more. A place where education is important with many universities feeding our workforce. A great place to live. A great place to work. A great place to call home! Come join us Amazon. We want you as our neighbor.”  – Robbie and Carol Robinson
“Everyone in Charlotte is so darn nice! Anywhere you go from the outskirts to uptown are filled with unique and talented individuals. Charlotte would be a great place for Amazon.” – Evan Bieler
“We did our own “site search” among numerous cities when we moved here in Washington, DC. Charlotte won, hands down — for reasons too numerous to count! Weighing all the factors, Amazon should come to the same conclusion.” – Brent Gilroy
“I am an Amazon Prime member and season ticket holder of the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra. The CSO is a fine orchestra and a huge asset to the community. The lively arts are alive and well in Charlotte.” – Mary Beth Ray
“We moved to Charlotte from D.C. over 27 years ago because of the amazing weather, friendly people, and the proximity to both the mountains and the beach. I’ve raised three children here and watched Charlotte grow from a lovely smaller city to an amazing metropolitan center that has somehow kept that warm, friendly feeling. What’s so great about Charlotte? A world class theater, ballet, and symphony; outstanding museums and concerts; too many wonderful chef-run restaurants to count; an international airport (making travel easier and cheaper); training centers for Olympic level athletes (you have to visit the US National Whitewater Center!!); and greenways and parks all over the city and suburbs. Combine all of that with Charlotte’s banking and IT industries, thousands of great small businesses, and a very active and dedicated non-profit community and you have the ingredients for the perfect place for Amazon to build its second headquarters! Welcome to Charlotte!!” – Angela Allen
“We moved to Charlotte back in 2005 because we heard about the Whitewater Center being constructed. This is such a unique asset for Charlotte. Remember to work hard and play hard …. I am sure a company based in Seattle would appreciate the USNWC.” – David Kuklinski
“We moved here to take advantage of a great environment for our tech company. From the excellent universities to wonderful recreation to the family friendly activities, we found a great workforce and very friendly business environment makes Charlotte and North Carolina the place to be. Business people are also surprised to learn that Charlotte is a vibrant ‘cloud center’ with major data center footprints from Apple, Google, Facebook, Disney, AT&T and other in our Region. This underscores the reliable and affordable infrastructure services, such as power, and skilled workforce that are attractive to high tech enterprises.” – Patrick Howard
“Charlotte is full of newcomers with dreams of a better life for them and their family. Amazon, find your better life in the Queen City.” – Lester Oliva
“We have lived in 3 states thus far and charlotte is undoubtedly best for us in terms of friendly neighbors, schools, weather, cost of living, commutation and last but not least entertainment. Many kid friendly activities throughout the year helps a lot of families with kids. Amazing place to stay.” – Anand
“I am very excited to think that Amazon could bring its second headquarters to our beautiful city. I am originally from Chicago. Charlotte reminds me very much of my beloved city in the Midwest – only smaller, more compact easier to get around and met people. I am particularly interested in the fine arts that Charlotte has to offer: The Charlotte Symphony, The Charlotte Ballet, Opera, Theatre, Music of all types, art galleries, the Mint Museum Uptown and at Randolph, The beautiful Gantt Museum of African-American Art, the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, etc. The degree of opportunity and sophistication in this beautiful little city is remarkable. Have you looked at the skyline lately? Exquisite!” – Carol Smith
“We help companies establish office space all across the country. Charlotte continues to be one of the most approachable, affordable, and talent-filled geographies throughout the US. Many have come, and more will follow.” – Chris Moeller
“Our family moved from Boston nearly 15 years ago and boy, has the city changed. We have seen dramatic changes to the city’s infrastructure and significant improvements in transport facilities.
We love the weather and the people of this city.
From the excellent educational institutions to first class recreation and family friendly activities – easy access to both the beach and the mountains, we found a great workforce and very friendly business environment. All this makes Charlotte and North Carolina the place to be.” – Keshav Bhat
“A lifelong resident of Chicago, I moved here with my partner to better our professional careers and way of life… which meant leaving behind my beloved Chicago and his beloved Pittsburgh. We couldn’t have imagined how right we were in choosing Charlotte. The opportunities in our industries (landscape architecture and business analytics) are numerous and the quality of life is beyond anything we have experienced. I don’t know how this city does it, but you have a world-class Uptown that somehow shines brightest with its friendly hospitality. Parks, greenways, restaurant, shopping and businesses are as prevalent here as the smiles. Want to take a day trip? Beaches, mountains, adventure trails, and adjacent cities and towns booming with history and unique culture are a quick car ride away. This is a city that values life, that cultivates energy, and is thinking towards the future. Charlotte, as we know it, is young – but it is wise. I truly think Amazon would find the same charm, the same energy, and the same enthusiasm that we found.  I cannot pinpoint one thing that made me feel at home here – but Charlotte is just that now… home. I love this city – I love its people, its diversity, and it’s growth. Charlotte didn’t need us here – there is so much young talent to be found and more moving in daily. But quickly, we found how much we needed Charlotte… and I truly hope Amazon takes the initiative to give this city a chance.” – Jeffrey Mis
“As a Charlotte native, I feel if Amazon picked Charlotte, it could really boost the local economy. We need a company here in Charlotte to be the face of TRUE diversity beyond its “corporate photos”. From my observation of Amazon, it truly has a culture of its humble beginnings. Amazon really needs to visit ALL areas of Charlotte (wealthy to low income) and speak with the citizens to get a true feel of the existing talent, as well as the communities that make up the city of Charlotte. The city has several exciting projects underway, and the key thing to ensuring the success of Amazon bringing their HQ2 to Charlotte is making sure the opportunities for jobs are spread equally for all communities. In return, allowing all groups to have a chance at earning more, and changing the scope of neighborhoods, schools, etc.” – Ronald Marsh Jr.
“Moved here in October 2000, and unlike other large Cities, such as Atlanta, DC, Boston that profess to be chill and open, Charlotte doesn’t pretend. Though most folks are from somewhere else, the diversity makes for a city mainly full of talented, happy, welcoming people. Charlotte works hard and plays hard. A shock for those coming from over built metro areas is experiencing the luxury of living in a city with a lot of modern amenities – arts, museums, National White Water Center, NFL & MBA – being a slower, clean, convivial city.
I have found Charlotte to be an almost perfect distance between the mountains and the ocean. Whatever your detox activities, everything you need is always close by and vacationing is a breeze. Plus the extremes of weather are spread to the west and east, Charlotte has the best weather the East Coast where you experience all four seasons, with the major perk is that they’re all relatively mild and really colourful.
I was won over by the city’s residential costs being low, with it being rightly renowned as a safe and encouraging place to raise a family; a solid school system (public and private), great parks all over and kids themed activities throughout the city. Charlotte also offers commuter-friendly public transportation system (expanding bus and light-rail systems) and an international airport. And rush hours really does only last just over one hour!
Finally you do not need NASCAR aficionado to enjoy Charlotte, however, I predilection for BBQ is a plus.” – Dan W.
“What many people don’t realize about CLT is what a great water city it is! In addition to having 3 lakes within easy commuting distance, we have the Catawba River, which is perfect for rowing with it’s long distance and calm waters. Belmont Rowing Center offers a great way to exercise and meet people of all ages while enjoying a scenic setting on the river — all within 25 minutes from uptown CLT. And don’t forget the Whitewater Center for renting paddle boards and kayaks, or the various dragon boat teams we have in the area. Charlotte Is a wonderful place for rowing and paddling — with great groups to enhance the experience!” – Cindy White
“While Charlotte continues to grow it is a very easy city to live in and accessible to major highways and points of interest. Where else can you go to find property and land within 15 minutes of the city and the airport? Charlotte is a fiber city as well with AT&T and Google both currently installing fiber making Charlotte one of the first fiber connected cities. Large Universities in NC bring plenty of talent to this area and the mild climate makes for an enjoyable place to live and work. #CLTisPrime for sure!” – Craig Frazier
“AMAZON AND CHARLOTTE ARE A MATCH MADE IN FREE SHIPPING HEAVEN. I was born and raised in Charlotte (I’m a hidden gem, there aren’t many of us) and there isn’t a single thing better that belongs in Charlotte than Amazon. The two are practically one in the same; both stand for diversity, new experiences, breaking the social norm, etc. Come on Amazon, join us here in the CLT” – Kelsey
